This Washington D.C. Engagement Session took place in the Historic District and unique shooting location of the Eastern Market. The Washington D.C Jefferson Memorial added a stunning twist on this early spring shoot. The Memorial is a a grand backdrop! Its massive Ionic columns created a Grecian setting for this couple. I absolutely loved the way the sunlight peaked through the columns. The warm glow mixed with the marble created an old yet modern feeling of romance. The waterfront view from the towering Memorial overlooked newly blooming blossoms, creating a pretty backdrop of color. Later in the session Dawn made her way through the cute Eastern Market. I was so excited to see that there was a natural skylight in the structure! I loved how the the chrome and glass on the display refrigerators reflected, creating interestingly lit and shadowed areas. This Washington D.C. Engagement Session also served for a tasty treat! The crepes were awesome at this food cart. The vendors at work were entertaining!

PS: from Dawn – I love shooting engagement sessions! I’m never disappointed in the beautiful light I get and my couples are such troopers for agreeing to dawn sessions (no pun intended). D.C is one of my favorite places and I can’t thank these two enough for opportunity to photograph some of my favorite photos of the year.
